Peace by Piecing TM

You may have to scroll across to see all of the quilts.  My apologies, just try to think of turning a page in a book.  I'm thinking of writing a book.  Someone who loves my quilts said she would rather brouse through a book than have to sit at the computer for an hour.  Wasn't that sweet?

Dorothy Ann's newest McCall's Quilting Magazine quilt, A Very Modern Garden (Seen right) is on the way to subscribers now and will be on the stands June 1.  Beth Hayes, Executive Editor of McCall's, thinks you will love this quilt, I hope that is true.  I know that some of you have already getting your subscriptions because orders are coming in.  I bought 550 yards of fabric but this quilt requires a lot of yardage.  I expect to sell out of the original fabric as this happened in August with the Sept/Oct quilt.  I will be looking for alternate fabrics to kit this quilt.  See the All Dressed Up and Ready to Throw™ version of this quilt a bit further down this page.
Oh my, I have so much fun!!!
Ode to the Flower March/April McCalls issue is shown left; I failed to add it to the site, so, I have about 10 kits left.

Of note to quilters:  Cotton prices have already begun to rise at an alarming rate, they are expected to double this year.  I hope this doesn't happen but shop owners are already seeing the rise in wholesale prices.

Watching My Summer Garden© PbP 2009
webassets/WatchingMySummerGarden.JPG
Block of the Month Designed by Dorothy Ann for P&B Textiles

Dorothy Ann's Block of the Month quilt drawing from two of P&B's most popular spring and summer lines, Chloe by Janet Broxon and Sophie by Diane Nagle was available for quilt shops only.  Now that those fabric lines have been discontinued, I am free to make it available on this site.  Watching my Summer Garden ©PbP 2009 is a beautiful mixture of whimsical flowers and friends found in a summer garden.  This unique quilt has three different kinds of blocks; pieced, three dimensional and Baltimore Album type blocks.  With the three distinctly different types of blocks, Peace by Piecing will be offering the quilt as A Season Of the Year Quilt in three installments.  I was notified that the fabrics would no longer be available and I bought additional yardage so that I could could kit the quilt here in Valdosta and on line.  The original quilt is in Birmingham, Alabama at Heart to Heart who bought the program and have 40 participants making the quilt.  As soon as the quilt is returned to me, I will outline the program as it will appear on peacebypiecing.com and post more pictures of the quilt.  We were really pleased with the quilt, OK, pleased is not the word but I hate to brag.  More to come later.  The quilt will be offered in two different color stories.
